u-pull-it horror
Saw a thread on these forums earlier..(where was it???)
about the type 3, in Blacktown Pick'n'payless.
Went there as soon as I could but a week too late!
Horrors!:o
Pickers had torn the dash into little pieces(for what?),
Someone had snapped the (previously good) interior dress panel from the rear hatch into three pieces to access the ...something-or-others.
That aint right.
It was a good car til it was front ended, with lots of good bits.
Some owners need little bits like that i.e, ME!
Who could have done such a thing?:cry

Hey I had the same thing in my own fuckin driveway with a kombi I had for sale...
SOMEONE, (not naming names no sneak_e it wasn't you) came and "looked" at it, broke a bit of filler off the door, ripped the previously undamaged
rubber floor mat and broke off the previously undamaged cardboard kick panel then said, "Not really what we're looking for"....
"Maybe coz some wanker has busted it all up"....!!!!!!

yeah it was me that saw it. Was that you there yesterday? I was pulling link pin shims out of the bug in front.
Sorry the car was in a state, often like that there. People are always taking the motors half to bits for no good reason and leaving the parts all
over the ground. That said, i've picked up a whole kombi box for $150, and found a few rarish badges. Just got to be lucky I suppose.
Have you tried Volksbahn? They've seem to have a lot of Type 3 stuff. Indian seems to have stuff as well.

I was lucky enough to get the left door off that one. Was fortunate that nobody had trashed that in the couple of days it took to get back to get it
off. I generally call in every few weeks WHEN I"M AT WORK! to see if any new cars have come in.
Pete, are you close to also report on any new Type 3s which come in, especially the up to 69 models? Not many around now.
There are some at Riverstone Autobreakers but sadly are rusting away even if you do catch anyone there to have a look.

...I was there sunday.
Thanks for the tip-off, still got plenty of good bits n pieces I needed!
Hinge covers, drain tubes, chunk of dash, hang straps..well worth the trip.
The seats were good!
There was still heaps of good stuff on it.
Saw some funky lino in the campers

I'm just the next suburb away. I don't go as much as I used to, but if I see anything good then I post it on here so people can have a look if they
need it.

Well' I sure appreciate it
I've been going there for years for my various cars, it's a cool place but a bit of a hike from the inner west.
I'm sure it wasn't anyone from here who trashed things up.
Forgot to mention i got the rear hatch seal too, in good nick!
The bloke at the counter looked down at my pile of stuff and said..
"i dunno..fifteen bucks'll do"
btw it's a good place for cheap audio gear..any radio for $10!
I imagine speakers aren't pricey, either.

Rear boot seal. It may be useful to someone. I have a seal near new but the "clown" had glued it in the wrong side up! It's off a fastback boot
from memory but fits the notch if shortened a bit. Bits of glue will come off easy. Contact me if you need it but you MUST use it ...... NOT HOARD
IT and preferably to someone local so they can pick it up from me. My notch doesn't see the sun enough to deteriorate the one in it!
