Brake Lights working/not working

Thought I'd relay a problem I had with my brake lights recently. My Manx had undergone a roadworthy and machinery inspection in september, so I was feeling comfortable that everything was working fine. Not so!! It turned out that my brake lights were working but only when I braked hard. The cause of the problem being the pressure switches on the master cylinder being clogged/damaged. So next time you check the brake lights on your VW don't just check if they come on, but at what pedal pressure. It could save your from some abuse or worse getting rear ended.

Quote of the week
"Do I wish to send them to you again, nope, no interest can't be bothered really, to much hassle for little or no return."
