boosting a '63


What modifactions can i make to my 1963 1200 beetle to help it get over the brisbane hills, i don't want to change the engine just try minor adjustments or parts replaced to boost her?

Saw it advertised i nthe super cheap brochure for there big sale.

69' baja: kombi box, thing spindles, irs, disc front, type 3 rear drums, 2 inch lift kit, 31x10 rears. :tu:
New engine in process: 94mm p&bs, 74mm C/w chomol Crank, 35.5x39 SP heads, turbo. Wierd combo, hopeful torque monsta!

I know you said you didnt want to change engines, but your best value for money would be putting in a late model 1500 or 1600, and then doing the other mods if you want more.
I think the new 1600 vw brazilian engines were quite reasonably priced? might be worth looking into.

The car has a newish recon engine when i brought it, so i really don't want to spend and get another!!!

Unless anyone wants to swop a 1200 for a 1600!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm guessing not!
