1300 - Std exhaust vs extractors/afm system

Hi,
Just doing a build up on a 1300 engine and have decided to scrap the heater boxes. Just wondering now that i have the option would it be better to get a set of extractors / system rather than using the standard muffler with j-pipes? Would i have to consider changing the jets on the carbie?? Current carbie is the stock 30mm and have sp heads.

Just a question on the scrapping of heater boxes on a road car. If the vehicle is fitted standard with heater/demister, could the vehicle be defected at registration inspection time? After all, demisters are a safety item which we had the luxury of in VWs over early other makes which only had them as "optional extras".
