Ace 30 oil

Interested in peoples thoughts on Ace 30 engine oil.

I was going to switch to Ace 30 to help stop my oil from getting too thin on my trips to work when I have to sit on 110 on the freeway.

What oil do you currently use in your car?

yeah stop it from getting too thin by putting thin oil in it?I have heard the theory that thin oil takes the heat out faster cause it travels faster.Who knows? if I didn't have a oil pressure gauge i may still be running 30 weight oil!
Each to thier own but i found my oil pressure dropped when i used ACE30.
It gets up to 40 degrees here somedays. The hotter the oil the thinner it gets.
Castrol big bore high performance oil.20w-50

Yeah I was skeptical about the fact tht Ace 30 is only 20-30 grade but from what I've read about it, it's supposed to aid in reducing the max temp the oil can get to.
Curious what everyone else uses in their cars.

Ummm, ah-huh!

Ok, so exactly what temp IS your oil getting to on the guage then?
This is what is important.

Hi Tinman, ACE 30 oil makes no particular claims about reducing the temp's oil can get to. It claims to Withstand those temp's much better than probably any other mineral oil available in Aust., and keep lubricating in 'temporary overheat' or 'emergency' conditions.
It's a 20W-40 grade, not 20W-30. If you just want high oil pressure, there are plenty of high-visc oils on the market, like Penrite HPR 30 (20W-60).
