Type 3 Station Wagon WANTED (Automatic)
Hi, we're looking for a later model type 3 stationwagon (Variant). Preferably Automatic, long-nose type, in 'original' condition (or mildly
customised - eg. wider wheels OK). Preferably a light and/or original colour, eg. Antarctica White. Must be in good order, ie. not requiring MAJOR
bodywork or rust repair. We're prepared to pay for a car in top condition. Please UTU or E-mail us. Any leads mucho appreciated. Thanks!

Thanks folks. Have now seen the thread on pink one. We're after something perhaps a bit more original, a bit less pink, and with a bit less rust.
Otherwise that one would fit the bill. We're prepared to wait for the right car, & the more original looking the better, though re-sprayed is fine
of course. As i said we'd be prepared to pay for the best available. If we can't find an auto. we would consider a manual. If you have any leads
or maybe a suitable car, please e-mail, phone or UTU as you see fit. |

This is an older pic.
Since then I've added clear front indicators and fixed the dent in the door (did a panel beating class!!) Got enough spare panels and parts for
another car, well nearly.

Thanks 62deluxe, looks good. Have thought about it and we really want an automatic though if possible, so we'll look for an original automatic
first, & only go for a manual once we've given up that hope. |

Try Peter Curran, he has a 69 auto square that he is restoring and is going to sell...

Howdy Ace!
Had any luck with tracking one down yet?
They seem pretty thin on the ground these days, wouldn't mind one myself :thumb

No Andy , we're taking our time, hopefully to find the right car (ie. in "top" condition). Also advertising, asking, and looking around. We're
really after a late auto, which makes the search hard. Auto is the big boss's imperative, not my choice. Wagons seem to have had a higher attrition
rate than Fast & notch-backs in recent years, partly due to greater rust problems it seems (rear widow & rear sill). |

If you don't find one, there's also the option to convert manual to auto.
Have not looked into it myself, but apparently not too hard if you have the auto box + shifter etc.
Did you see this reply?

I hadn't thought of that. Have heard of Auto to manual of course. Will think about that idea/check costs etc. Thanks! |
