maybe the injectors are sticking, so the power goes to them but the needle doesn't move.

Has it been sitting around for a while?

Is the cam belt ok, is the cam timing correct, are the valves opening?

I would say its been siting for two years

I have a new timing belt on it , thats ok as done many of them , I would say the valves are opening .

I do some more testing & tip a small amount of fuel in the system

run a diagnostic check on the motor using the factory plugs and you should be able to here the injectors clicking on and off and the relays all working too.

Sounds like injectors.......but then again I've never heard of them not operating even after sitting for a few years. Cam timing, I know it's pretty hard to get that wrong, it's just line the marks up, crank onto the notched indicator, right inlet single mark against the cutout in the cam cover, exhaust right single mark to cam cover cut out, (your two vertical marks on the cam wheels should line up)...same on the left side, count the teeth on the belt between wheels, and then push the tensioner to the left, nip up and pull the tensioner pin. Bingo.
Pull an injector and run it off the motor. Or just power the injector and see if you can hear it.

i had the same thing happen to me after a couple of years sitting
i pulled the plugs squirted some full in (about 30ml) each pot and it ran for a few secs
i than pulled the injectors swished them in a bit of petrol
tapped them on the ground then keeped hitting them with 12 volts and you could see them all start to fire
some took more hits and swishing than others
put them back in and it fired straight away
you will see instantly if it is the prob when you hook 12 volts up to them

I got it to go !!! yes sweeeeet

I found there was a plug missing a white beeper ( key in ign ) this I connected and it started .

I then removed it to see if it would do the same thing it did not .it started again with out the beeper .So I removed one of the injectors and the stench of dead fuel was realy bad , so I run some fresh fuel through and out the injector line via a injector port .Hit the key and it runs mint .

back now to make some more bits to make it go hard !

Thanks for your input guys

What is the rs turbo motor in????

Just got a fully sick BOV for mine. Goes heaps harder..must have been leaking from the higher boost. They are only spring operated after all, and must wear out after time. Dyno next week and track day at the creek on wednesday. Power figures with new manifold should be interesting.

Tell me its not in the trike!
