Do kombis have the same stud pattern as bugs??

V force does a nice wheel ( http://www.beetleracing.com.au ) for beetles.

Have a look at:

http://www.aussiekombicampers.com/projects_bbw.shtml

This will give you an idea of possible donor cars (like the Audi A4) then you can search ebay for options.

Split Screen Kombi's have the same stud pattern as early beetles, but Bay Window's have a stud pattern the same as Merc's, which is different to later beetles

I chose to bolt on some Audi wheels, which have the exact same stud pattern as the Bay Kombis. John Sherman from Volks Conversions has a couple of different styles to choose from. The wheels are second hand, but in reasonable condition. They suited my daily driving (ie; weren't too precious to get scratched) and they look pretty neat.

Here's a small pic of the wheels. The centre caps are from a local mag wheel dealer. To make them fit at the front over the grease hubs, I just ground away a bit of plastic from the inside of each locking tab. The centre caps make the whole wheel package look tidier.

being a student does suck! Especially watching all these cool conversions and restoration on here. Part time cash goes straight into the tank and the rest onto the bus. Im thinking of lowering the bus before i get some mags... but will be keeping an eye out!

Those mags look sorta like the style i want... not heaps ricey but classy...
