change globes and reg, can get away with a 6v starter on 12v, apprently (i have so far). if you have phores then they also will need attention, many options there.

for semaphores you can use a dimmer switch from a later car to get the voltage right, or jsut get a resistor from your local auto electrician. 6v starter will work on 12v no worries. certainly helps get your car started. wipers should get a resister also or they will fly across your glass with little effect. as said above jsut change your globes and regulator and your cool. is sometimes good to jsut check your earths also.

No Sam no need to do a full rewire. Make sure you're prepared for the first time that 6v starter spins with 12v. :P

Yeh, all bulbs- headlights, parkers, indicators, dashlights, interior light, brakelights, licence plate light, (might even pay to get your headlight reflectors re chomed too) wiper motor, coil, generator, regulator?, might as well get a new dizzy condensor, got an auto choke? check the V of that too, and of course, a nice phat battery.

It'll be a good idea to test for voltage drop across the circuits that look old and crusty and replace the wiring to keep the current up..

Sam

i will use less current

Power = Volts X amps

So for a 12 Watt globe a 6 volter will need 2 amps and a 12 volter 1 amp

the size of the wire is based on the amps it carries not the voltage

6 volt wiring is actually better(thicker)
use a resistor for the wipers(and fuel gauge)cheaper and easier
