Where are the parents?
watching the news regarding the awful accident that happened in ipswitch recently, where three young boys were hit by a train. the news crews and the
council are blaming everythig from holes in the fence to train station security. everyone is pointing a finger at someone or something. however one
person is left completely out of the ring of blame, the kid's mother/guardian.
where was she when the kids were out at the train station, on their own, throwing rocks and running around on train tracks?
it seems these days that there is always someone else to blame, except for those who truly deserve a finger pointed at them.
i know full well that i would never be allowed anywhere near a train station unsupervised, and if i was caught, i'd be in for a big smack! just the
thought is enough to keep me out of those places.
why do we have to endure this tragic waste of life, when it could have been so simply avoided? if the kids knew what could happen to kids at a train
station, or the fines they would cop if they were caught throwing rocks at trains, or if there was some form of punishment for disobeying mum's
orders, then this would not have happened.
it makes me sick to my stomach.

driving along a quiet suburban street last night in my car with a mate, we had eggs pelted at us.. (as in..at the car)
smash smash on the windscreen and side windows...
one handbrake turn later...those kids disappeared like fucking rabbits...
i was furious. how can parents be so irresponsible with their kids...and just let them roam free.
if i had've done anything like this, dad would've given me a clip around the ears!(actually, he probably still would!)

I've been saying they need parents licenses for years!!!
Until people stop pointing the finger at other people like the train company, or the fence company, nothing is going to change. The sad case is that
deadshits raise deadshits. Politicians never look at breaking this cycle cause it's outside their term and the problem is too big. The govt never
seems to look at the core issues, like drugs for instance. Lets not look at why people are turning to drugs, lets pour countless millions of
taxpayers dollars into trying to win an impossible war on drugs, instead of actually trying to understand why people feel they have to turn to drugs.
Always bandaid solutions...

I've got a 10 year old and a 7 year old and I wont even let them play out in the front yard, let alone off our property!
I guess there are parents at all end of the spectrum and everywhere in between.

I have 3 kids between 13 and 3, and wouldnt let them out after dark unsupervised. Its very sad that those three kids lost their lives, but I agree,
where was the parental supervision?? I also heard that the two brothers that were killed lost their older brother in a car accident just recently...it
was a stolen car running from the police.....

my daughter was a child care worker and stated that QR actually go out to schools and tell the kids how dangerous trauns are...........they must
obviously have been absent from school that day!!!!!!! Apparently the parents are now looking for people to donate money towards their
funerals...............I know that Centrelink will give them money, so why should we.
Typical.....its everyone elses fault. My kids grew up in a street where all parents knew all the kids........therefore we always knew where the kids
were and what they were up to, even when they were playing 'spotlighting' during the school holidays, there were always parents out watching where
they were.
Obviously Mum and Dad were too busy doing other things........

A dead kid makes for a good payout after they blame and sue the security company or the fence people.
Sure they will cry and lap up the attension for a week or 2 then they use it all on bringing someone else down other than them selves.
Just for fiancial gain.
just like they have more and more kids so they get bigger welfare cheques

Hehe..yeah!
ADD is in 95 percent of cases a bullshit story made up as an excuse for the little fuckers (excuse le francais) to get off easy for being right pains
in the ass... or as an excuse fior the dumbass parents who couldnt give a flying rats ass about what there little yard monkeys do and can't be
bothered disciplining or controlling them.
And to add to that, we have these frickking do-gooding twats saying "THOU SHALT NOT SMACK THY CHILD!!!!"... and somehow these jokers end up in
government and suddenly... oh... we are now liable for an assault charge if we smack our kid! :jesus... Take this analogy... when I was 2yo, I was
fascinated ny the hot iron... my folks said "KIERAN, DONT TOUCH THE BLOODY IRON!!!!" over and over again... until one day I snuck up and planted my
little fingers right on the hot surface on the bottom of said iron to quench my curiosity... needless to say, I NEVER did that again.... you smack a
kid, or clip em on the ear, same dif... you inflict pain, pain is unpleasent... and most kids with a brain cell will not continue with any behaviour
that results in pain being inflicted upon them... ie asharp smack on the wrist for playing with matches... they dont play with matches no more!
IMO, pring back the cane in schools instead of this airey fairey detention/suspension bullshit, make the parent and child both directly responsible
for the childs actions, and enforce harsh penalties on both parties in the event that a minor causes public disturbance, remove all the doogooding
nandy pandy's out of government, reform DOCS or get rid of it for good... as they are useles as tits on a bull, and get rid of all theis stupid
legislation that makes corporal punishment a criminal offence! :o
Also, I believe national service should be made compulsory for all early school leavers wh are unemployed at the time they leave and who have no
plans for further education... as in students who leave before the end of Year 11 jobless and TAFEless.... being a student fwho finished year 12
last year... I notice that every single student who left at the end of year 10 or before and was jobless and not at tafe was a dropkick who's name
was only known fr the shitthey caused. Children are allowed to leave school at 15 years 9 months of age... but a great deal lack the maturity to

:o did the kids suffer from A.D.D.? if they were on medication, it wouldnt hae been a problem. and note that A.D.D. is not just a palm off for pain in
the ass kids. A.D.D. is caused by a chemical imbalance in the brain, which essentially makes your brain speed in a school zone. the modern drugs not
only slow the brain down, but control adrenaline and testosterone levels in males, relaxing the aggression in sufferers. Up until the mid 90's many
kids were falsely diagnosed with A.D.D. but the sceening process and red tape behind it now makes it virtually impossible for a false diagnosis (they
upped the security when they found out falsely diagnosed kids were selling their ritalin). its not an excuse, its a real thing. if the kids were
sufferers but the parents weren't giving them the meds, then once again, its on the head of the parents.
And to add to that, we have these frickking do-gooding twats saying "THOU SHALT NOT SMACK THY CHILD!!!!"... and somehow these jokers end up in
government and suddenly... oh... we are now liable for an assault charge if we smack our kid! :jesus... Take this analogy... when I was 2yo, I was

:o i agree, a smack on the bum is the best thing for a child. however, its shunned because of the bastards who take it too far. when i taught my drama
kids last year i saw the aftermath of a mother's rage. every week this poor girl had fallen down a new flight of stairs. if you can control yourself,
its fine, but then again there are so many other ways to make a point to a child.
IMO, pring back the cane in schools instead of this airey fairey detention/suspension bullshit, make the parent and child both directly responsible

:o DOCS does what it can. there does need to be a reform, but i wish i could show you a world without child services. its not as pretty as one might
think. they're not perfect, but not as useless at tits on bulls either.
Also, I believe national service should be made compulsory for all early school leavers wh are unemployed at the time they leave and who have no

:o i know a couple who both dropped out of school (and tafe) to work at a cafe. they have now bought it, doubled their income in the last financial
year, and now employ me to manage the place during the day, while i work at a restaurant (run by a year 10 dropout chef) by night. Never underestimate
the uneducated my friend, they may just end up hiring you to do their dirty work.

What angle do you want me to come at this from?
As a train driver or father of five?
The train driver will probably never drive again. Hitting a child is hard, hitting 3 would be a free ticket to retirement &/or the funny farm. There
was test case in Victoria, years ago, where the driver sued the parents of the child he hit. I don't know how that finished up.
As a father, how the f#ck can you not go looking for your kids for 8 hours??
The parents are blaming everyone but themselves. Peter Beatie gets on the tv last night & says the parents arew responsible for their kids & the
fathers comment was astounding.
"he should try to look after six kids"
YOUR KIDS WERE GONE FOR EIGHT F#CKING HOURS !!!!
If one of mine is missing for an hour I send out a search party. I'm 44 & moved out of home near 3 decades ago, but, if I don't ring my folks once a
week they'll ring me.
Well my friends are gone & my hair is grey, I ache in the places where I used to play.

Most people here have hit it on the head.
It our current place, our kids are not permitted to venture out the front of the house without supervision - you just can't see the road too well.
Our previous place was in a culdesac with lots of other kids, and they used to play all the time with all the other kids. You used to know where they
were - and they knew the rule about not going past the telegraph pole - and what would happen.
Shit - these kids travelled 15 kms to get to where they were - and it wasn't until 11pm that the parents reported them missing.
My kids groan about the restrictions put on them, but in this day and age you need to do what you have to, to keep your kids safe. My kids are 6mth,
2, 8 and 10 - and there's no way in hell that my two eldest would be off galavanting around the streets.
This family needs to be investigated by DOCS, because at their current rate, they don't deserve to have kids.
The sad thing is - there are plenty of other families that need just as much help.

As far as DOCS getting involved goes, I reckon that may not do a great deal, I have a 16 year old cousin who... well lets just say he's had more than
his share of DOCS experience, being brought up if it can be called that by a grossly neglectful and abusive mother, before being taken into the
custody of his father, my uncle... who is almost as much of an abusive headcase who shouldve been castrated at birth.
For all the help that DOCS were in his case, they might as well not exist... their unbelievable incompetence disgusts me no end... the bloody police
were involved in various issues before DOCS even thought about trying to take a serious hold on the situation... :puke

Just remember guys that at the end of the day 3 kids did die and although you may feel better for putting ur point of view across it does lack
respect.
Some parents have never been taught to look after their kids. It prolly didnt even occur to them that they might be in danger. Either way I am sure
they do love their kids and feel the loss of them.
Feel free to have a go but keep it respectful.

Children are allowed to leave school at 15 years 9 months of age... but a great deal lack the maturity to
enter the world without causing disturbances of the peace...

One of the comments on here says that the parents were probably never taught to care for their kids...................
I'm afraid when my kids were born, no one handed me a rule book for bringing them up......as in most cases we all lived and learned.........sometimes
we made mistakes and sometimes we did great.
Unfortunately BIG mistakes take lives and this is what has happened. If the parents were aware and the kids were properly supervised, this would not
have happened......will they learn from their mistake???? Probably not!!!
If you can't laugh at yourself you can't laugh at anyone else! Because life is to short not to LAUGH
