What's this? What happened? I must have missed it!
I was reading a book last night, so it seems I have missed out? Maybe not?
No comment from me sorry.

i didnt watch the close after i watched the open. they got carried away with crap rather than the event and the competitors. so my guess was the clsoe
would be crap also...
i think this opening and closing crap is becoming over rated, and probably soon will be commercial.
desides how can the same dudes, go from country to country and try to out do them selves?

I didn't watch any of it. I did the whole Olympic thing in Sydney 2000, and that was awesome. For me the Commonwealth Games don't even come close.

I thought it was pretty spectacular, but rather rude of Barry Humphris not to turn up in person. And I agree the Indians display took the cake by
far.

Couldn't believe in an international event like that, with all sorts of "good" sports being played, that they would use it as an opportunity to
showcase our irrelevant backyard footy game that isn't played anywhere but here.
If you hadn't guessed I dont like footy...Let the flames begin

What commonwealth games?
I'm so over Australia's obsession with sport. Why don't we get obsessed about something that really matters, like people and culture. I stopped
listening when the whole country sooked coz some swimmer got the flu. :o
But hey that's just me

Smashing the rest of the Commonwealth isn't something to gloat about yet we seem so obsessed with doing it. A little embarassing actually.

Maybe they should have set the harbour bridge on fire with fireworks like they do for every other bloody thing that happens.
the commentaters were all sydneyites and the couple of time I tuned in the were still making sarcastic remarks bout Melbourne weather. All pretty
banal and unimaginative IMHO
