Design Collective
just a thought i am throwing around at the moment. thinking about creating a collective of like minded designers and screenprinters from around the
world who could pool their designs, and print the designs of others for a small commision, allowing designers to get their designs out everywhere and
also offering them the opportunity to broaden the range of work they have available at markets etc by allowing them to print from other's ideas.
what do you think of this? could it work? is anyone interested in such a venture?

It could work, but a lot of copyright issues would have to be clarified wouldn't they?
Sounds like a cool idea though, go for it! :P

Hey! That's an interesting idea!
Displaying statistics, re: amount of times viewed/downloaded(copy rights purchased),
having ratings, ie 'hot or not', comments columbs etc.
It could be the 'myspace' of amatuer designers...and lead at best to recognition/employment in the field, or at the very worst, reality checking.
If it got big enough, It would certainly be trawled by manufacturers.
Drawbacks could be website production costs, setting up the financial exchange, protecting designs from piracy (virtually impossible), bandwidth
requirements, copyright squabbles and price setting debates.

havent decided yet, just an impulse idea, was thinking maybe a forum/group to begin with. super low quality/watermarked/etc images available for all
to view, have to submit application and sign contract to join. definitely hard to police, but i know a couple of others printing their own work at
the moment, and they have a great style, if they had the opportunity to print other quality work that they liked they may be able to find a place in a
larger market, appeal to a broader range of customers, maybe have better luck selling to shops, and if their work happened to be picked up overseas
and was a hit great. as long as parameters were setup from the beginning there would be nothing stopping someone from setting up a purely printing
business and printing purely other peoples work on commision.

hadnt seen that one before. not quite the same idea, but interesteing to see around. i am also a member of deviantart.com but on there all you can
do is critique, cant really work with the people.
