Play in steering
Hi
I have 67 beetle that has excess play in the steering. I have tightened the adjustment in the steering box but It still has about 8 cm of play and
when driving I have to keep correcting the steering.
should I replace the box?

i had a similar problem with mine a few months ago... huge movement for no steering change and when i hit bumps the car almost changed lanes on me...
real handful to drive.
I got the box rebuilt and tightened up (was also not centered) and now she is much better.
see.... air and water do mix
