Starter Motors
Hi all,
Last Monday night at midnight my starter motor died. On Thursday a nice reco one was fitted and PBB started fine from mechanics to bf's house and was
running awesomely again... except now I've just gone to start her up to go home, and the solenoid switch is clicking but there's nothing else.
Nothing. Battery is fine, all connections to starter motor seem right too... any ideas? RACV is on it's way here as mechanic isn't open on
weekends.

Hi
Could be an earh issue. Do you have a relay in the system? If not its a good idea to fit one. Does your car have the computer plug on the firewall? If
it does you bridge the starter from there.
Turn igintion on supply power from the + to terminal #50, make sure the car is in neutral, the car should start, if not your starter is dicky or the
wiring to the plug is not connected properly.

ive had many a girl friend up here in qld that has had issues with starters and what not and the racq up here just replaced batteries willy nilly -
make some $ solve the "problem" when really it was just a flat battery from leaving the lights on or something similar that could have just as
easily been recharged.
be careful there - i get a weird gut feeling when it comes to girls getting taken advantage of with regards to car stuff...

My starter motor really had had it though... no clicking when i turned the key. Once that was sorted and replaced, the mechanic must have let battery
drain somehow when they had it there. Eden started it fine when he picked it up and got it 5 mins down the road to his house.... where it was parked
for nearly 2 days. So when I went to start it another day later, she was dead except for clicking of solenoid switch and the battery had finally died
completely, not just flat. All is good now!
So there's another chapter in the life of PBB. Actually, I have more chrome bits on her, should put some pics up tomorrow... :P
