Not VW related - Excited reptile

Just had to share this...

My pet snake finally bit me properly tonight. 11 punture holes in one bite. Nice and deep too. Pretty cool I reckon.

Only a Carpet Python, so no worries with poisoning. He's about 5' and pretty bulky, so good sized teeth. He's bitten me once before, but didn't even draw blood that time. This time he put some effort in, probably because I was just introducing him to a new enclosure.

My girlfriend isn't too impressed (she loathes snakes), but I'm fairly stoked.

I bet the first thing you said was "Crickey!!, DID YOU SEE THAT!!! What a beauty!!!".

I have a 2 lizards myself (stumpy tail & blue toungue). They give a nasty nip occasionally. The little buggers don't like to let go either!!! Ouch!!

I forgot to ask. Does he/she like their new enclosure? (the snake not the g/f!!).

My G/f has her own enclosure too....she calls it "The HOUSE!!". I have my own kennel called the "GARAGE". "Understanding" is good for a relationship, it minimises confusion.

He's only been in the new aquarium for about 45 minutes now, so it is all still new to him and would smell strange to him. He's all inquisitive though, calmly checking it all out, and stretching out to meet me nose to nose when I look in on him.

This one earned himself the name of Merlin, as when he first came to me, he'd swallowed a kids t-shirt and wasn't feeling too good. A few nasty cramps and some strenuous regurgitating a few weeks later, and out popped the blockage. It was like watching a magician pulling a mile of knotted silk hankies out of his mouth. Nice trick I thought.

Now he's doing really well and seems quite happy with where he is.

over the past few days i have gotten over my hesitation in handling my sisters pet python, lazarus. (i was hesitant to pick him up, didnt mind him being handed to me...) and now i take him out daily for some warmth and sun as his heating globe is broken and sis is away on holidays up north catching snakes and spiders with her bf...

hes very annoying to get out of my dreadlocks though!

actually, the only time lazarus has bitten anyone was when he lost his grip on my sisters hair (he was trying to reach something whilst on top of her head) and bit my sis on the shoulder in an effort to hang on to something... she didnt even realise...

theres no way he'd survive in the wild if he tries to get a grip on a branch with his teeth!!

Snakes are awesome, but I'm still wanting to get a pet Mexican Tarantula. One day I will!

My friend has a carpet x diamond python named Daigon... I got to hold him when he was the size of an earthworm (about 30cm long) and again when he was about a metre, he had such sweet markings! ;)

We have a small family in our back yard. I love feeding them eggs and watching them trying to crack them open!

Bit hard to see now, and the "wound" was only a series of needle-fine puntures.

It did actually bleed, although I certainly would have been happier if there was more blood, it would have been worth taking a pic when it first happened then.

Haha. I am a fruiterer and remember the first time I found a bird eating spider in a banana box. There was a dead huntsman in the box as well with it (lunch/dinner). I was splitting the bananas (holding a large hand close to my chest as I broke them into smaller bunches) when I finished I saw this *huge* spider crawling up my shirt towards my neck!!:o I don't mind spiders, but I totally shat myself at the time and killed him (repeatedly just in case!!). He was easily about 6 inches wide from leg to leg. Wish I didn't kill him. Could have had me some fun with the register chicks!!! hehhe:lol:. I remember another time I was filling the banana display when I had a huntsman crawling along my back. The store-manager was pissing himself laughing at it until I caught it and threw at him!! He stopped laughing!!. you find all sorts of things in those boxes. cockroaches, rats, mice, frogs, spiders, beetles (not the VW kind).....bananas....
I remember another time I was filling the bananas and some customer started going through the box after some bananas. I told the old fool that there were spiders probably in there and that she should buy stock from the *DISPLAY* (We have displays for a &^%#&* reason!!!:bounce). Anyhow she said "no dear..I'll be fine....you are talking rubbish....spiders in banana boxes....humph!!!........AAARRRRRGGGHHHH!!!".
YEAH...I FU^%$#NG told you so!!!
I hate customers but revenge is oh so sweet!!.
