Brake noises

My front discs have started to make a "graunching" noises... sometimes.

It is at the end of stopping.

I still have .... say 5mm of pad left.
No - i havent pulled them yet to see what the inside ones are like, i can see the outside pad through the mag.

I doesnt "squeal" like a worn our pad metal on metal noise, it is a graunch, a rough noise.
You can sort of feel it as well.

Will be pulling out the pads on the weekend, just looking for tips.

Barry

small stone jammed between the pads ...
but does still sound like maybe the inside pad has worn thru..... especially if You can feel it.....

But I suppose a stone could make the same noise....

do You drive on dirt roads?

Many years ago, the brakes on My type 3 used to squeal
most of the time due to small stones.... but I did drive on unsealed roads a lot....

Sort of hoping it is a rock - maybe caught beside the pad so as not grinding all the time. Only when it turns that way.

If it was metal on metal i would have thought it would be all the time and quite loud???

Will see Sunday................
