Oil temp capillary in a beetle?
Just wondering what length people estimate an oil temp capillary in a beetle would need to be?
(think I estimated about 3-3.5 meters but want to know if I'm way off)

sounds about right... would need to be long enough from engine bay to dash then one side of the car to the other.
generally the capillaries are pretty small and flimsy even tho they are made of steel tubing so short sharp turns should be avoided and the capillary
should be supported at regular short intervals to stop it from being able to move around.

like steve said ^ go electric much easier and they respond quicker in a vw i find cause they're not 3m from the engine
my first bug came with one and it was mounted under the ash tray and i removed it due to visions of hot oil pissing all over my interior
they would be a bitch to feed through from the engine bay to the cabin as well when i pulled my old one out it was nealy 4 meters

yep, same here, same as a an oil pressure sender, use the lecky ones. much much easier. :thumb

Yes well the same could be said for heaps of the stuff we do on dubs guys. I've got four matching guages, so it's more for looks than functionality
