what product to use to clean carbys?


Hi,
I have some webers that have been left sit with fuel and water in them and have brown and white crusty stuff in them.I've tryed carbi cleaner.Anyone had any success in cleaning this out?

just done the same with a set of 36 alfa webers bought from evil bay looked good from the outside but when pulled apart very ordinary inside. :(
carby cleaner and wd40 pressure packs and small plastic tube, all clean now. I will carby clean all orifices again and then compressed air blow out, new rebuild kit and check float level and should be ready to bolt on.:spin:

Nothing dissolves crap like carby cleaner...maybe I should have worn gloves all those times! :o

yeah make sure you wear gloves with the carby cleaner, my hands stung for days after I used it... nasty stuff

try different brands of carby cleaner - some stuff can be real volitile - and that's good!

I was under the impression that acetone was the weapon of chioce for this sort of thing.

cloth, old tooth brush and for the tight bits use cotton wool stick things (making sure you pull the cotton wool out with the stick when done)

cleaned my twin SU's like that, they were filthy wen i got em
