How many kw at the wheels did your car make John? I have never actually heard a figure.

I will have mine back on in a week or so, as I have been busy..I had think I had 230hp, although that was with a leaky BOV, and a few other little glitches that have since been sorted..hope for 200kw as this is still old motor, although who cares what figures a dyno claims, feels like its going harder, I do 500kms a week and have wasted every car that stupidly thought they were quick.

The new motor(2002) will have a custom tig welded intake maniold, new stainless headers and exhaust, a secret turbo, maybe a secret crank and a 50-75 Nos kit.

I want to run high 10's.... still a daily driver though.

Big Smile!

I can only say I did not know this untill then mate & I had an adapter plate & fly wheel here as well .

I just read the VMA Jak & was & still impressed with your build .I have the 60 coming home in the next few weeks & will do a DIY from this for all to see .

I have also landed some more legacy non turbo 2ltr motors here for those who dod not wnat to go turbo .Its the same motor in the trike & makes 120hp all day , the blocks are closed deck as well .These would be great for super charging .I doing one soon with a eaton M90 just for the hell of it .

Ding Ding the next round is about to start. Im still trying to work out whether this sarcasm and constant aggressive behaviour is some form of manifested sexual tension between you boys...DO NOT COMMENT JVL, as hard as, you, I mean , that may be... given your exploits on WRXNET.
Just from HP perspective, I think Jak would be the male in the relationsip....

Was that your first or second year racing a bug?

I am concerned about how Craig has taken to the notion of surrendering his arse..especially to some one who has to stand on a milk crate/phone book to do so.

I will race you seagull...think your smart poping off from perth...anyway we can finalise our details later. Back to the giver and the taker.

Lets organise a race...craig comes and does and sprint with Jak, and then Jak does a hill climb with Craig. Otherwise I have a cool marriage councellor who can sort out your relationship..until then continue the playfull banter.

It was my 1st year. In fact the first event last year was the first time I had ever driven a VW (apart from on and off the trailer). VW's are my old mans passion. I knew bugger all about them then and know $hit about them now (Im still trying to figure out the firing order). I just enjoying driving them hard on the race track.

Gull, what Rizzo said is incorrect, and keep in mind Craig's hillclimb Beetle is a VW-powered VW and as such, can race in CAMS events as one without any class/identity dramas. So is bat69's.

But having said that, I think you know I am a great supporter of 'retrotech' transplants, having done a few, including VN EFI into WB, Delco/5.0 V8 into EA Ford and co-ordinating/assisting wih a mate's WRX/Type 3 transplant.

Dude, I can buy a JDM Soobie WRX for full-fun track work for $5K, so for pure fun on the cheap, why would I fuk around with a VW transplant? :)

A VW-powered VW is a dak-dak-powered dak-dak! :thumb
