First of all there are 2 sizes in a 1303 L bug that i know of.

There is a smaller shaft size that fitted the 3 bolt early models (73ish) and the larger shaft that filled the 74+ years.

Either way i would not expect it too.

For a company that made inter changeable guards and doors, VW went over the top in making sure there steering wheels dont swap too easily - especialy the later years

A '70 golf wheel will fit a '74 kombi.

Sure does dave

Years ago I was just mucking around to see what different steering wheels would look like and couldn't beleive my luck when the golf fits and feels good too.

wouldn't the size of the Golf steering wheel make turning on the kombi hard work? the bigger the steering wheel the easier the turning?
