running fast!
any ideas and help would be great.
Got a 2l 1976 bus which is fuel injected. It s excellent apart from one little thing it runs a little fast!!
Checked and altered the idle screw all timing is spot on, got new points, plugs and leads and it does'nt miss a beat.
Start up is great, and idle is good, but on the run its seems to stay high inbetween gears, and when you stop at lights. Although after a while the
revs drop down!!!
any body experienced this? any help would be great thanks

EgeWorks L-Bug is doing a similar thing... but it's mostly just when stopped at traffic lights. The revs stay high until he taps the throttle and
then the revs drop back to normal. He has twin carbs.
Let us know if you find out what's causing it!

Yep, called a throttle return dampener... I found one and installed it on my bus (even tho the previous owner had removed it). Keeping the rpm up a
little between shifts saves your synchros a little i think and also emissions benefits. You should be able to adjust it, but i duno where or how it
works on a fuel injected car.

Sounds like the choke may be staying on....
or 009 Dizzy just doing an odd thing....
as they have to tuned at full advance....
not at idle....
The throttle return damper was used on Carburetor cars that I have had.... I used to remove them....
My Son complained about His Laser [at the time] doing the same thing....
I just adjusted His throttle return damper so it didn't work.
I didn't like them....
Lee
best of Luck....

^ the efi one is a vac diaphram valve. when the diaphram cracks you get an air leak past the maf.
