36 horse query

I know 36 horse's were designed for autobahn usage - no major query there. What I'd like to know if anyone has used one on a regular basis for freeway trips doing around 140km per day. What speed would you cruise on (I'm guessing about 100kmh), and how did it pull up hills? In the short to mid term the motor would be replaced, but in the interim would consider using it. Thoughts?

Their speed was only about 110km flat strap down a mine shaft if that's any help. Be prepared to "row" it up hills with the gear lever!

Had my 60 model to 70miles/hr today on the P/Hwy................that was flat out !! It's a struggle to cruise at 100km/h, just leave your foot flat!

As long as you are not in a hurry, then its OK.

bout 90 to 100 max whould be the limit but they will sit there all day long if you dont have any heating problems.

Hills will be the killer, i used to drive mine all over the place n in city peakhour traffic...

better off fitting a 1500 or 1600 single port will get around the same MPG and better on hills AS u wont have to get out n PUSH

I take it you will be heading south down the F3 each day ???
