cant get spark? spectron van
Ive been frigging around with this spectron van now for months and need help it was running when i got it but my wife cooked the head so I pulled it
off and had it fixed when i ve had time but cant seem to get it running again
I cant get spark
it has power at the coil but none at the plug it has a gap in the points
so could it be coil or condenser?
and if so how do I test that?

Hi Marcel, when you say it has power at the coil does this mean the coil lead sparks when you pull the lead from the cap & hold it about 4mm from
earth & turn the motor? or just that it has current going to the small terminal - if you have spark from the coil then it is not points or
condensor cause these initiate the spark at the coil, the diistibutor cap & rotor button distribute the spark to each plug
SOMETIMES people forget to put the rotor button back on -just asking- inspect it carefully & also make sure the small carbon rod is still in the
cap from the coil lead terminal, it makes contact with the rotor button & sometimes falls out
