there are always those who can't find the funny side.
the way i see it is that, they are alive and they did a dam good job getting the pig on the deck in one piece.
well done to the pilots.

those landing gear. Next planes they buy wont have 'em. Mr. Nelson will make sure they dont! keep that great track record going

Yeah but Penguin is a carpenter isn't he? I got a mate who rang me who works out there, said the wheel bounced into the car park.
This is my Volkswagen, there are many like it, but this one is mine. Without me my Volkswagen is useless, without my Volkswagen, I am useless.

hmmm... only thing i dont like about this cartoon is how the media exaggerates the facts... next there will be a 'scandal' involving 'australias
aging fleet' with 'safety concerns' and 'dangerous conditions'.... when all it comes down to is a minor incident involving a wheel...
Just look at the Concorde... it hit something on the runway, tyre burst, crap went into the engine... plane crashes for the first time ever... and
they killed it off. FOR CRAPS SAKE... IT CRASHED INTO SOMETHING ON THE RUNWAY... IT WASNT THE PLANE!!!
Sorry... I wandered a little off topic.... that's my rant for the day. :kiss

For the record...each of these jets has done less hours in their 30 years than commercial jets do in 5. And a lot of commercial jets have been around
for 15 - 20 years...not to mention the landing cycles which provide more stress than anything else.
Did anyone notice that it stayed in tact after landing on it's belly and sliding 220 mts. Not to mention it has only minor damage.

Nah,
I ain't a carpenter, they have to work for a living. I am an Officer.... I just have carpenters working for me, well, I used to when I had troops

I loved watching it come in though and I can damn well bet we had a much better time on the ground watching than the two poor buggers sitting in it.
Bet there was a lot of beer drunk that night!
Agree with fek, always going to be blown out of proportion.
Aside from that, all's fun, two guys got down alive Lee, care to ask
any loadie from the Iroquis SQN to show us their t*t's?
(Besides, there are two aircrew per f1-11 and everyone knows the windsock is on the other side of the runway at Amberley :P)

Yeap.,
looked impressive, plus the way the young fella brought it in so low, level and slow was a credit to him, that had to help im minimising damage.

Sometimes you have got to ask youself "What the heck where they thinking"
I mean we all thought it was funny, just that there was no way they were going to get away with it. Maybe they were getting out and it was their last
day in. :P
Besides that, how low and slow was that pig going. Must of had wings fully forward, flaps fully down and the nav hanging out the cockpit flapping his
arms!

Concord was already on its way out. They had a scheduled retirement plan before any major grief with the craft.
