New TDI engine conversion?

I was just looking through the VW site at the new TDI engines and it got me thinking about which model engines would fit into a bay window or even a squareback.

Does anyone know anyone who's spent the cash and time to put one of these new engines into an older chassis?

wow that would be a good idea for a bay window, a nice new TDI would still keep the purists happy as the engine is VW and would keep the speed freaks happy as well.

More of a common conversion in europe (natuarally, as diesels are a way of life over there)

I've considered such a conversion to my T3 as long as it's one of the more modern units such as the vw 2.0 tdi or the new holden astra 1.9 cdti.

The torque and fuel efficiency would be great (the power's pretty good as well on these modern ones') but i'm sure they're pretty expensive to source, you'd have to make sure your gearbox would handle the torque and that your ratios would suit the power delivery as well.
