Hydraulic clutch

Hey all,
Forgot to mention, I had a dissapointing day at the dyno a couple of weeks back. Since the pressure reg prob fixed and a few little tweaks, the car has been going ultra fast. When strapped down on a dyno however, if there is a problem waiting to surface..the dyno will bring it out. Clutch slipping. It did a while back, due to loose engine bolt, although disc looked fine. The stock disc may need a little upgrade. Only made 149kw at the wheels with standard boost and clutch slipping. My boost controller then decided to not regulate boost. We put on the guys from the dyno..wired in his E boost and he couldnt get his to work. expensive day, when all I wanted was AF ratios adjusted as it was rich as rich could be.

Anyway, I wanted to know who is running a hydraulic clutch...as i will add this to the list of things that need doing to mine. You never work on your own when you drive it 500k's a week for nearly a year. Still smiles

in HOTVW's ad (AUG 06)for vwparts unlimited ,JAMAR pedal assy for 144.99 usd this month.that is the same setup I have on my race car,has roller pedal and slave cylinder.Use hard line front to rear(clutch),if you are drag racing go up on clutch line size, will improve clutch engagement speed. http://www.vwparts.net,make  sure you tell them you saw their ad,prices may change otherwise.

The clutch pressure plate is 215mm with 850kg of force...apparently more like a stage 3, as kennedy's ratings are not accurate. Now wether it be disc related, fluid on disc, or pressure plate, soon the 2002 motor I have will grow to 2.5 and with a bigger, better turbo and injectors, I should get upto 230-250 kw at the wheels. Thats before the 50hp nos button, so I can see the never ending clutch stretching issue annoying me...

Thanks for the info, I had looked at ads previously, just wanted to see who had ran them. I press pretty hard on the brakes being about 130kg, and the pan is already bent up infront of the peddal, so I was going to make a whole new peday assembly.

I'm sure Wally has had issues with that kit when used with his 915 gearbox.
I'd also be very wary with the size hole that needs to be cut into the side of the tunnel, for a car being tracked you are asking for long term failure in terms of stress cracking.

Looks like decent quality kit. I'd be seriously tempted to do this, just to avoid ever having to change another effing clutch cable.....

Craig, do you know if that kit uses the stock pedal cluster, and if so if there are any RHD / LHD / early / late issues there ? (by the way I wasnt having a go earlier, just curious and interested !)
