SPOTTO....VDUBS on TV and Movies

Hi Guys

This was a thread that got purged out in the crash of whatever. I am interested movies and tv shows which features vdubs.

I just got out a golden oldie and it is literally full of great shots of beetles and an amazing red 15 window splitty. The movie is the first Dirty Harry movie starring Clint Eastwood just called "Dirty Harry".

Volkswagen USA must have paid big time for the rights to feature their vars...just love the 15 window.

Another old movie called Tin Men..Starring Richard Dreyfuss and Danny DeVito. Real funny comedy and full to the brim of 59, 60 and 61 Cadillacs......amazing cars but a theme through the movie is the little german cars...beetles... that one of the characters keep seeing on the roads that defy the push for bigger gas guzzlers....some nice shots of early beetles.

Loads more to share in time.....Have you seen a movie featuring Vdubs????

I just watched an episode of the TV series The Saint (Roger Moore) and they had a police Ghia coupe and a police beetle in it. Both had HUGE blue lights on the roof. Other than that, there are always lots of beetles and even saw a type 3 ghia in one of them.

Hey can anyone transfer these comments onto the original thread as it is a pity to double up and lose some of the old comments.
