how come they blocked it? my yahoo accounts were blocked, the reason was viruses could be down loaded thru the adverts!! not my e-mails tho!! i love

I dont know what goes on here in the basement because AVD and youtube have been blocked at various times but both have been working for a while now.

Most IT filters (or blocks) only work on IE - so install Firefox (and Filezilla for FTP)!
Thats what we use at work to circumvent the site blocks. Another advantage is that most trace software can't resolve the IP paths from Firefox, so
they know you're using bandwidth, but not where you're going with it.
If you are unable to install (no local admin rights), there is a portable version of Firefox you can run from a USB key.

Find out what your proxy is for your ISP and put it into IE. Or if you are uber 1337, set up a proxy at your own place. 
tools->internet options->connections->lan setting->Use a proxy server
it is ofcourse possible that the internet options is blocked though :P
