In answer to FAQ, I go to the post office almost every day so I am happy to post anywhere for the cost of postage.

Cost of postage = what is calculated at auspost.com.au + cost of any special packaging if needed.

what is a quicksteer?

A quicksteer is many things. Increases longevity, boosts sexual performance, helps you give up smoking and lose weight.

As an interesting side effect though, it attaches to your steering as seen in the picture (bolts supplied) and your tie rod ends then connect to it. This increases the length (see) and reduces steering input by about 30%. So you actually a) have to turn the wheel less and b) can catch a slide with opposite lock in 60% of the time it took you before. in theory. you still need the talent to pull it off. I make no claim that this will turn you into an Ari Vartenan. I recomend you clean your steering arm though because I now have a greasy phone.

The dizzy started life as a SVA part number 0 231 181 005 what is that from? i dont know.

At the time I had it done, i had to send it to QLD, the shaft was machined to take the hall effect gizzards and the advance mechanism was locked. It still has the vacuum can on the side of it, that is simply to cover the hole. You would ONLY use it if you have an EFI system which also controls ignition timing, eg Haltech E6.

hmmm, it would fit and work on anything with a steering box, so long as the spacing of the tie rod end holes is the same.

Second dibs on the turbo, please. Couple 'o' questions.

What model KKK? Did you use it? What's it like? Much play in the shaft?

Cheers,

Mick.

I dont know off hand what model it is. Will look when I get home. Its the one that I believe is fitted to all of new beetle/golf/A3. It was a warranty job that was replaced only a few months old. The wastegate actuator rod broke off the diaphragm. I replaced the diaphragm with one from a sigma that I had lying around.

I used it for a short time a couple of months on an otherwise stock 2litre kombi. It worked really well. Worked well up until I overloaded my kombi and melted the heads off it on that fateful trip to valla. Worked so well that even after the first head melted at Kempsey I still travelled at the speed limit until the second head melted.

While those heads are rooted the turbo is still in as new condition. The wheels are unmarked, there is no end float. I'll take some detail pics of it tonight.

The oval steering cloumn has a queue for it. Switch has been claimed

I've taken some pics of the turbo, the best I can do. In the last shot, the stainless steel lines coming out of it are for water connection. You can pump water through it to cool it but its not essential. It just helps to stop morons from hooning around and shutting the engine down without letting it cool. banjo fitting on the other side is threaded and for the oil connection obviously. Oil on the other side is taken out with a flange and tube. I'll toss that in as well but the buyer will probably want to make another to suit their application. I'll also toss in the exhaust flanges and as much pipework that will fit in the box.
