valve adjusters/tappets
hey guyz,
does anyone know if the valve adjusters on my 1.8L kombi motor are hardened? Can i clean up the contact point on lathe or will it remove the hardened
layer and then wear really quickly?

yes, yes and maybe. They are hardened. You can clean them up and you may go through the hardening. You may find you need to grind them as they are
a similar hardness to the cutting tool. You can buy new ones or touch them up with something like stellite which is really hard.
