Cluch Cables - are Type 1 & Type 3 the same???
Hi all, question on clutch cables for aircoolers. Are Type 1 Beetle and Type 3 clutch cables the same????

I'd say your dropping the clutch a bit too rapidly if you need a new cable.
My guess is that they are the same length but not sure.

No..
type 3s have a 2333 mm long cable 311 721 335
311 721 335A for later type 3s.
and the Beetle is 2260 mm 113 721 335A
thats the most common one..

there are about 6 or so different lengths and therefore for differnt models

Thanks gents, looks like I might have to take my old one along to the store and match it up.
Ken J ideas if the cable in the T34/911 was a standard early T3?? oh and Nah I havent been doing burn outs. It just keeps going out of adjustment. Had
to adjust it twice in the last month or so. Think (hope) its just the cable streching.

I didn't touch the cable when I had the car. I assume it's standard T34.
You can adjust the length slightly by increasing the kink in the outer housing between tranny and the pan by putting washers under the outer tube.
