mix n match type 3?

just saw this on ebay and very confused, looks sorta like a 72 kombi, it is supposedly a 1970 type 3 notch but has an early front style, late rear, disk brakes and 2tone doortrims. can anyone shed light on this car, how it could have come to be?

I saw this too. I don't think it is a 70's but rather 69 with earlier front guards. They would fit as the front is short. And the rears area apparently interchangable through all models. I'm guessing it was put together as a bitzer.

My mate has a type 3 notch that is a 69 model with a 62 front. The front is welded on from the windscreen foward. So it has the early model air vents and no side petrol filler. Fools alot of people. Theres a picture of it on the Euro Day post.

Maybe this car has had a similar work or they have put later model rear guards and upgraded the brakes etc?

High back seats were on the 72 on models. 73 had the different 3 point mounts. 70 to 71 were still low backs. This one is a 69 or less with 70 gaurds on rear. Earlier than 69 with front moustache or 69 with earlier front gaurds. A bitza!

Not a 69 ,68- 69s have a petrol flap on the front D/S guard.

Its definately an earlier car.... Its running early bumpers.... Early and late bumper irons (and bumpers obviously!)are very different and not inter-changable.... And it also looks like its got early doors.... They are also not inter-changable with late cars...

FUCH your early!
