| Little help with this picture 
 
 I can across this picture as was wondering if this ugly kombi/wagon had a bit more history about it.
 It looks like VW-Mercedes-BMW got together, after a night on the delighting tasting substance called beer and produced this W108.
 I wonder if the W108 has a type 3 motor in the back as the text is relating to looking through the 4th window.

 Someone wanted a merc wagon & built one.
 
 I don't think it's "coachbuilt". As a rule when something is coachbuilt, it's fabricated. They don't just graft on parts of other cars.
 
 Very well done though. I wouldn't mind seeing photos of the whole thing to see how seamless it is.
