?? Diff problem in T3??

Has anyone experience with differential problems in a T3? I have an Auto 1982 Transporter. There is a clunk at lower speeds when gears change, especially when slowing down at lower speeds. It isn't the AT (rebuilt recently) or CV joints.

Does this reflect wear in the diff? Suggestions please? I have never had a diff problem, so this is new.
Thanks

Dave

My T3 had the pinion bearing come apart in the auto, wasn't nice, I replaced it with another diff as the ring and pinion was ruined after running out of mesh.
A Bay window diff is the same if that helps.

Take the pan off the botton and look, you will see if it is the diff or bearings, little shiny bits every where

Nope - idles at 625/650 as the Subaru is supposed to.
Thanks for the suggestion though.
