tail light extremely bright causing no brake lights


hey people
am having a dilemma with tail light /brake lights drivers side is fine tail light but no brake light and passenger side the tail light is extremely bright only on the tail light element of the bulb. i figure there is a short somewhere causing all these grief i have tried new bulbs fiddled around with the bulb fitting but still to no avail.
anyone have any idea? was thinkin the brake switches on the master cylinder first but its the tail light causing the problem i figure?
anyoine have any ideas?

i had a similar problem with my bus after fitting new brake bulbs, ending up being a weak earth, wiggled the bulbs around a bit and its been fine since.... might be worth checking the contacts/earthing part of the wiring.

Rhys have you changed any of the wiring

have you got the buld in the right way around

check the earthing as well

yer bulbs in right way have tried to wiring around the other way thinkin it might be the brake lite up all the time but its not that its not an earth back there cause reverse light's and indicators work properly??

Nah, earth of that particular bulb....

also is it fitted right way around?

we get a lot of dust on our roads up here and it makes the vehicles tail lights play up ,if you take out the globes give the hole a clean,that works for me

Check the earths in all of the rear lights and after cleaning them daub some Vaseline on them before tightening them. It will prevent a repeat of the problem.
