Gearbox problems


Hi all just stripping my gearbox down and am having problems with the big castle nut that retains the pinion gear. Is this retaining nut normaly hard to remove???

If you can not remove it with the correct tool, and the 'peen' is not stopping it,
you may have to cut it off with a sharp "implement".
I always get a new one anyhow.
