Replacing Mirror Glass ???

Hi All,

I need the mirror glass replaced in my side view mirror, where do I get this done at? Just your every day glass shop? Do I just smash the old glass to get it out? What do I use to hold it in place again? I was thinking silicon or the like.
Mirror is OG stainless passenger side mirror for late beetle 1500 onwards.
Cheers
Brendan

When I worked for a ricer importer, they had a guy come round who just 'glued' a new cut piece of mirrored glass over the convex glass in the side mirrors of jap cars.

So an importer (if there's one local) might be a good place to start. Or maybe a specialist like O'briens.

A POSSE AD ESSE.

I live in my own little world, but it's okay, they know me here.
