VW Warwick 2007 - Update
New to VW Warwick for 2007 is Lindsay Inch, who will be competing in the Volkswagen Bodied non-VW powered class, with his 4.4litre V8 1971 Beetle!
Welcome Lindsay. Lindsay is also sponsoring this bracket of racing.
Of course, Lindsay will be up against Aaron Roberts in his Rotary Powered Kombi, so this class of racing is looking primed for some interesting
competition.
Remember, pre-entry is a must, and closes on September 14th 2007. Entry forms are available on line at http://www.vwma.net.au and click on the VW Warwick banner. Dyno Day spectators and entrants can also collect entry forms
from me this Saturday at the VWMA stand.

VW Warwick 2007 welcomes on board two more sponsors, Tampico Tools and Machinery located in Clontarf Qld (Lou Guevara) and LMS Engineering in NSW
(Dave and Lorraine Stoker). Thank you for your support of what will be another exciting weekend of racing.
I met with both the Warwick City Council and Chris Loy from the Warwick Dragway this week. And yes, I drove my now very shiny twin cab up to Warwick
and thankfully spotted no roos this time. The street parade will be a static display in the carpark behind the council chambers. Last year with so
many VWs, there was too much traffic chaos, so the carpark is a much better scenario and far more secure and central. As this display helps the
Warwick Dragway Club to attract more spectators (the club take the gate for the weekend), I'd like to encourage everyone to participate. I realise
this may mean loading the car back onto the trailer (no unregistered vehicles are to be driven), but the effort makes a difference to the weekend
attendance.
I also confirmed with Chris Loy regarding the cut off time before a vehicle should have an ANDRA tech. 6.99 is the time when ANDRA will expect a tech.
This is very quick, and will really only apply to a handful of cars, which in the main are already tech inspected, but I thought it worth mentioning
as I have had some enquiries. Again, 99% of the field will only need to be road/track worthy - this 6.99 cut off will apply only to some of the
Fastest 8 competitors. Also, please refer to the VWMA website for the minimum expected clothing requirements to compete.
Preparations are well underway, including an additional shower/toilet block, to improve the existing fine facilities.
