Keyed or Splined shafts?
I have an L Bug (single side plate) tranny and need to know if it has a splined or keyed main shaft and pinion shaft.
The reason I hear you ask? I'm about to order a set of gears off Albins and they need to know. (I hope they're keyed 'cause the gears
are cheaper!)

I'm 99.999% sure it would be splined. But I've never pulled one down and don't have the manual to check.

Pull it apart
Shouldn't you pull it apart before you order them ?
If you give German Autos a call on 07 3865 5457 Lawrence should be able to tell you off the top of his head for sure. |
