Tell me something I don't know.
I had very much the same "conversation" with Jim Gow years ago, & it went something like this;

You buy ONE, then one day you grab a "parts" car, BUT it's not that bad that it deserves scrapping.TWO. You finally find a parts car for the two you've got & start stipping.

Someone walking past notices you have THREE VW's in the drive & tells you of an old bloke that has had one up the back of his shed for eons. FOUR.

And so it goes.
Yes, it's an addiction. :no:

Well my friends are gone & my hair is grey, I ache in the places where I used to play.

The most I ever had on hand was 8. I've weened myself down to 5 (for the moment).

This is not to mention two garden sheds full of parts, or the 300 odd toys of various sizes, materials & quality, the boogie boards, the clocks, the pictures, photo frames, fridge magnets & other assorted VW paraphenalia.

Addiction is the word. :yes:

I hope it stops with these 2 as i have no space left !

Also its a funny feeling after driving my van for 7months to suddenly sit behind the wheel of a beetle, feel like such a small person on the road!!

lovin it though!

I think there may not be a cure but there is definitely something to help control the abuse. I've had this insidious addiction now ;) for 35 years and although I've now three VWs I have managed to control the urge to get more by getting a wife! So now whenever I want to get more fixes she stops it dead in its tracks. It's certainly not the kindest situation and really I do want more- I mean there are KGs, type 3s, kombis amd 181s out there and I want them all:mad: But she speaks and I know I must toe the line or else (you really don't want to know what, trust me!). So there you go ,if you think you can get away with getting more please go ahead and try and if you're lucky enough to manage it and get away with it and be happy then please do not tell me or put it on this forum for my sake and the sake of other sufferers:(
