My Country Buggy for sale - maybe
Hi all,
I've seen a nice beach buggy up here I'm interested in, but to get the money I have to sell something, and I guess it has to be the Country Buggy.
I'm thinking of putting it on ebay but I'll only sell if I got a good price for it.
Does anyone have an idea what it could be worth or what others have sold for?
It doesn't appear to have the original engine, and it's not the original paint job, but everything else is original from what I can make out from
reading this list. There is no rust and it has just passed a Qld roadworthy and is now licenced. It doesn't have the soft top roof but the frame is
there.
I've got pictures on this list from my previous postings but I can put up others if you want.
Any info will be appreciated.
I was offered $8000 before I got it licenced and cleaned it up but didn't want to sell it. Since these cars are so rare, I might just end up keeping
it and trying to get the money another way.
Regards
Paul

advice
$8000 is good money, BUT I would be more concerned about the beach buggy. There are a lot of beach buggies out there that people ask big money for and
not worth it. The C/Buggy would hold its value more than a non genuine Manx.
But at the end of the day its your call.

$8000 is good money

I agree that's a nice price since your CB is in such good shape relative to lots of the remaining examples, even minus the original F series
engine.
However, I will add that I believe no other VW you might own has the potential to appreciate in value like a CB. Not a Bug, a bus, a buggy, or
anything other than maybe a Kubel or Schwimmwagen will hold its value and continue to escalate in value like your CB.
The math of production numbers and remaining examples support this conclusion.
As a foreigner, who desires to one day own a CB, but who is currently is not in a position to buy one from Oz and ship it here, I believe from what
I've seen of yours, the $8,000 offer you entertain is a good value from this side of The Big Pond.
There is something very, very special about owning a CB.......and you are one of the lucky few that does.
Unless you are absolutely desperate, and can find no other solution, I would hang on to it if I were you.

Hi all,
Thanks for the replies, I've decided it's not worth selling it. Besides, my 10 year old son has already put a claim in for it.
Regards
Paul
PS: Not sure what the kidney blackmarket means

Glad you have decided to keep your CB!
I believe what Nathan is referring to is the very lucrative, and most illegal, international black market in human organ transplants.....and kidneys
lead the list as the most sought after organs. What it essential boils down to is the poorest of the poor selling organs for what they believe, given
their circumstances, are fortunes.
It's generally viewed as exploitation of other human beings at its worst.

Ah...I get it. I don't think I'll be selling any kidneys, however, I do have another organ I might have to think about selling if I want this beach
buggy.
Though I probably wouldn't make much from that anyway
