cheap water

picked this sucker up about 5 months ago for less than it cost to register, gave a major service, drained and flushed cooling system, topped her up with G12+, replaced dizzy cap and rotor, new plugs and foru tyres....7000 klicks later and she still pulls uphills in 5th @ 135 km/h, bit scary above 165 km/h with standard rims, height and tyres (soon to be upgraded and dropped 2.5" to Audi rims and decent non light vehicle tread pattern, awkward getting used to the gear pattern in the first week, not too much grindy grindy from 1st to second and the accelleration is astounding, (compared to a bay with stock 1800/2000lt). Currently using a fuel additive and premium BP, getting about 450 to 520 k's per tank, depending on right foot. Happy Days! At least we can keep the miles down on our older Dubs. It has a little bit of bog in one guard and front right but the rest is rust free and straight, still has factory sticker with paint code and options list intact, all other decals are there as well. All in all, my first watercooled bus has turned out to be a very reliable and surprising addition.

Less than the price of rego u say, they are the deals i love. Bit scary but when it all works out, better than money in the bank. Ahh 5th gear, I have only driven my syncro (unregistered) on the dirt but damm it pulls hard in all gears and its a 4speed. But yes that xtra gear in the GL is sweet i just wish 3rd would rev a bit harder and then some serious overtaking could be done.
Most audi rims require alot of mods.
Congrats, as all us t3 owners know the future is wedged
The scary part comes as uy find yourself thinking about a syncro, dont say it wont happen, it's natural progression.
Sort of a cycle of life.

Keep the steering and the propulsion seperate . Still a Kombi...

It's all good, until it's bad, i suppose

yep... 5th gear is the ducks nuts! cruising @ 120 130km/h as opposed to revving the bejesus out of a '69 Bay camper (that's nice too though) @ 108km/h...ahhh Bliss is a finely tuned Wedge!
