[FS - NSW] 1969 Low Light MicroBus - SOLD
For Sale:
1969 Low Light Microbus (walk through)
Original German import fully built and assembled in Germany.
Vehicle restored 3 years ago. Done approx. 1400 km’s since rebuild.
Body
Painted in Acrylic Candy White (late Volkswagen colour)
All rubbers have been replaced (door, window, light surrounds, handle surrounds, front door step rubbers etc (you get the picture everything)!
New front and rear blinker lenses and rubbers
Including rubbers between 3 pieces of front bumper bars (sourced NOS)
New chrome radio aerial
Rear Splash Guards
I have replaced the rear windows with one piece solid glass for a clean look
Engine & Mechanicals
Engine rebuilt 1600cc single port
All tinware powder coated satin black (including fuel tank cover)
Manifolds and heater boxes all sandblasted and painted in cast iron grey.
Detailed nicely to original style, including original looking stickers
Gearbox & CV's
The 1600 gearbox and been cleaned well enough to eat off, new gasket kit installed (rear oil seal, nose gasket and bushings, CV plugs.
Complete shifter assembly front to rear has been removed from car and replaced with all new bushings and re-greased to shift nice and tight like
new.
CV’s rebuilt.
Gearbox shifts and sounds beautiful
Interior
New headliner installed (front to back), (cost me $900) made from moon crater material to match original headliner material.
All seats are still covered in the original material as it came from the factory. It is nothing short of immaculate, except it has one small tear on
the back right hand side of the rear seat at the top ( 2 inches long) hardly noticeable.
The middle seat was only bolted into bus on rebuilt (original owner removed it the day he bought it and put in shed for 35 years)
I have bolted in a rare 9th seat (accessory) that bolts in place and is easily and quickly removed.
I have bolted in seat belts to all rear seats (can be removed if you like) 69 models had the nuts welded into the body with plastic bungs installed
for later fitment (as I did)
The dash board has been taken back to bare metal and painted black as I thought it looked better than the original matching body colour, has glove box
cover. The dashboard has a radio with no ugly holes or add-ons.
Original front and rear floor mats (floor mats near perfect). New front under seat rubbers, that wrap around under and behind seats as they did
originally.
Accessories
Opening front quarter windows (bought in US)
Rear American Spec Over Riders (bolt on)(bought in US)
Rear Window Jail Bars
Stainless Steel front VW Emblem
Front Mesh Sun visor (not shown in pics)
Empi 5 spoke wheels (silver/grey with polished outer rims) Manufactured in England, not Chinese rubbish. All wheels have new low profile 60 series
rubber, spare wheel has been sandblasted and painted to match body colour (wheel has plastic cover)
New rear mudflaps
American Spec Chrome tail light surrounds
Chrome sliding door lock mechanism. Handle mechanism is one of the few that when lifted pulls the rear door inwards to close tightly after door has
been shut (very very rare)
This vehicle is a very clean unit that always gets nice comments from passers by. It won Best Vintage Car and Kombi Bay Window Standard at 2007 VW
Nationals. It drives beautifully and never misses a beat.
$15,000.
This is a regretful sale which I’m probably going to be unhappy about in later years, but one of my four Volkswagens has to go (due to garaging
restrictions).

Hi
Whoever buys it will have back over Leighs fiance in the driveway. I reckon she will lay down behind it to stop anyone taking it away.

Don't do it!!!! We sold our '69 that we had restored and have been crying in our beer for years...
Build a new shed or something ... absolutely love it!
We have a replacement that we are now starting from the beginning with.. good luck!
