replacing the brake light switch on the master cylinder?
my brake light switch appears to have given up.
i can order one easy enough, just wondering, can i replace it without losing the brake fluid etc, or will unscrewing the switch let the fluid flow
from the system leaving me to re bleed everything?

I replaced mine in the ragtop without re bleeding, had no problems  .......................but it would be best to bleed the system.

Yeah no need to bleed the system, just make sure you have the new one in your hand when you take the old one out and swap them straight away.....you
will lose a little bit of fluid but dont worry about it.
Also it should be a 22mm spanner

as per above it would be better to bleed the whole system after replacing besides it will refresh all the fluid

ok thanks for the replies guys
thats what i was hoping, i will bleed the system i was more worried about everything just flowing out if the hole was big enough making it one of
those annoying refilling the system kind of bleeds.
excellent, ill give mick motors a ring in the morning.

no u will only loose a few drops if you do it quick enough and have the right tools n spares fingers to block the hole
you could pull the tank in a beetle to make it easier to work from the top
