Struts on front bonnect bug


Has anyone done this on an early beetle before? Just interested to know which way they mounted (if a bracket was used or not) and possible measurements on position.

Steve, i don't think there were any mounting points on a 58? Is this correct? I think they used a latch to keep it open once pulled up...

yep no stock mounting points on the 58


thats the hard part working out the mount point with the strut that you use

Yeppo, took some measurements of the shell outside vintage veedub. Will make my own brackets and play with positioning. I've got one of the standard kits so the struts are the right length. Should be a ball :blush:
