New addition

Picked this old girl up yesterday. Plans are to take the turbo engine from my white car and chuck it in.

This will be a dedicated car for the drags although not on the scale of some on here.
Plans are just to make it as light and safe as possible. Would love to make it look like a gasser from the '70's but more than likely will end up black like my notch.

Nice one mate! Are you sure you don't want to continue the purple and gold theme right throughout? I can see some purple shagpile (light weight of course) adorning the floor and roof, with a few glittery gold highlights on the interior panels.....mmmm!

On a serious note, have fun with it - looks pretty solid from afar (pending whats hiding underneath the paint) so that is a good start.

A couple of progress pics. Don't worry this wont be a "how to". I'll leave that to the experts. This is not a resto but simply a "Do what's necessary to get it on the track". Although I will spend plenty of time making sure the mechanicals are up to it.

The worst of the rust is in the bottom of the pillars. Obviously there will some in the heater channels, but as it's not a resto I'll get as much of the bad stuff out and treat and patch the rest. Pass side was the worst. Driver’s side is not near as bad.

Wheel well was just as bad. Bit of a clean up and a skim of filler and will look purdy....maybe.
First attempt at sheet with a mig.....interesting. Lucky I had the tig as a standby.
