Plugging (Welding) holes in the case and carby
Some f*&^ng low life piece of s*&^% decided to vandlise my car with a drill. Apart from putting few holes in the panels, he put a whole in the
case right next to the dizzy and a hole in the left Solex. I have no concrete proof who did it but suspecting the tow truck driver because I
complained about his attitude to his company. I wasn't home when he dropped the car off so couldn't tell for sure if he drilled the holes or not.
Anyway, after getting over my anger, disbelieve, shock, etc, I am trying to repair the damage.
I tapped the hole in the case and plugged it with a bolt and some loctite. Hopefully this will fix it. What do I do with the carby? The hole is about
7mm, can it be welded? Should I tap and plug it?
Also, I am pretty sure some metal shavings wouldn't got into the engine. Someone suggested I fill the engine up with petrol then drain it, it will
remove most of the stuff inside. I am not so sure if I want to do that. Wouldn't petrol in the case stuff all the seals? Any advice is appreciated

Wow thats really bad..
With the metal shavings thing, i put a cup of diesel into the oil, let it run for 1 minute and then drain it.
My brother told me this and he does it himself, im not 100% sure how safe it is, no warranty given! But thats what i do anyway.
Hope it all goes well.

what a horrible thing to have happen. Let the company know and fill out the paperwork with the cops, too. You never know - it might not be the first
time it's happened and someone might be able to 'join the dots'
I am not sure that welding the case will work; it will build up stresses etc. You may need to plug with something instead

DO NOT RUN IT AT ALL!! You will pump any shavings throughout the galleries which will most likely lodge some of them in the crank bearings spelling
disaster for your engine. Hopefully the shavings will have dropped into the sump depending on the hole position so drain it straight away.

with all due respect guys,
revenge = BAD and it can get way out of control.
Ask Hel70y how cranky towies can get. Call the cops and the tow truck company. Get get legal advice, but DON'T take revenge.

I have no solid proof that he did it so unfortunately I cannot do much about it . I am trying to get over it.
I tapped and plugged the case and did the same with the carby. The hole was drilled down (because the idiot was standing up) of unlikely the carb will
leak but will keep an eye on it. I filled the engine with about 4.5 ltrs of oil and drained it 4 or 5 times. I could see tiny bits of metal in the
tray the first couple of times. I will just have to hope for the best. THe engine also has a filter.
I couldn't get it to start so far, Not sure if the F&^%ker did something else to it or not. I am going through the obvious now (points, fuel,
plugs) to see if I can sort out the problem.
Cheers
