Corinbank Festival wants local Kombi assistance
For the ACT area Kombi Pilots,
I have been contacted by a representative of the Corinbank Festival, who are looking for Kombi drivers to be involved. Details below:
Event - Corinbank Festival, a new 3 day music, arts and community festival being held 29 Feb - 2 March 2008 at Corin Forest Mountain
Recreation Park (Brindabella mountains 40km/30 minutes west of Canberra).
Kombi involvement - artist transport for the festival. This would involve picking up artists and their instruments/baggage from the
airport, bus station or train station and transporting them to hotels and/or the site.
What's in it for you - Festival organisers will reimburse all petrol costs to club members who may wish to be involved. They would
also offer participating AKC members/drivers a free entry to the festival.
Why Kombi's? - No particular reason other than that Kombis have plenty of space for instruments, they fit with our desired festival
atmosphere, they're cool and Kombi drivers (perhaps stereotypically) have historically been associated with music festivals and community activities.
A great excuse for members to get out and about in their vans.
Other details - Vehicles will of course need to be in sound mechanical condition, registered, comprehensively insured and drivers
licensed.
Contact Matt Yager via email volunteers@corinbank.com for more details, etc.
