Porsche style fan

Hi there folks this is my first post. I have a 73 bay with two 1600 twin port motors in bits. One has recently replaced pistons , nice and shoney 85.45mm and I have two sets of extractors, a twin carb sttup solexs fom one and the other has a single carb and manifold. Funny thing though one has a dog box cooling fan and the other has am eight bladed axial flow fan driven from the crankshaft with the two pice cast ally case with vw emblem cast into it. Question is, which fan should I use and what vehicle did the axial fan come out of.did it come out of.
Any help would be much appreciated.
