where to get these parts? Got 'em! Need an EFI dizzy now!
I need the following asap. Any ideas where to find locally please??
- Mini direct mount fuel pressure gauge 0-100psi. (Fits in the engine bay and will screw into CB performance fuel rail. 1/8 fitting I think? VDO have
it in black and white face but haven't found where to buy yet.
- Quality fuel pump for EFI. Will be turbo eventually.
- Quality pre filter for above.
Mail order would be good.
Thanks for your help. Cheers, T

Thanks Bigfella and Dave.
Mark from MRC Dyno also referred me to them.
I had to see a machinist opposite there this morning and I looked for the shop but couldn't see it.
I'll go for another drive I think...I work 10 minutes from there!
EDIT: I got all the goodies lined up!
Here's a tough one then - a dizzy with hall effect pickup to fit the vw. My magna one that I planned to use might be too wide in the body, and I
can't get the sensor plate off without trashing it! (Need to disassemble and remove the shaft) What's been used and easily available? I was prepared
to buy new but haven't seen anything...

Got the pump & gauge sitting here. Happy days! Decided on a VL turbo pump.
I'll check out the kombi dizzy. Any more details on it or where I can get one? Are they available new?
Thanks for the good advice - keep it coming!

Hi
The 76 EFI Kombi dizzy used points. The 1.9 wasser I think was independent of the ECU. The 2.1 wasser only had 4 notches for piston reference and like
the other motors used a TDC sensor in the flywheel. The beauty of the magna dizzy is that it uses to sets of pickup coils, one for piston reference
and another for TDC. Two people I know have Magna dizzies in Type 4 motors with no clearance problems, I assume your using it on Type 3.

Cheers Steve. Yep it's for a type 3 motor.
Do you know or do you think you could ask any of the 2 ppl that used magna dizzies how they disassembled it without damaging the sensor plates or were
they able to buy replacements. Mine are on tight! Yep I even removed the top circlip first

Hi
One of the dizzies is the old one out my turbo wasser. I bought it new and I can't remember any problems in pulling it apart, if yours is used it may
need to soak in some WD40.

Yeah it is used.
Could a little heat help or would that be a bad idea?

Hi
Maybe a little as they are able to stand the heat from a running motor. Its been about 10 years since I pulled mine apart.

Thanks...I am convinced that it can't be disassembled without damaging the sensor wheel...well not by me at least!
The Wasserboxer dizzy is looking like a good option. Since I am not running sequential injection for now it looks like it could be a goer.
Which one should I look for? Can I get one new? Nbturbo which model one are you referring to?
I looked at a few aftermarket ones - msd, mallory etc and they all seem to have adjustable advance. For my application I don't need advance as it
will be controlled by megasquirt.
There must be more options to choose from!!
Ideally I'd like to lose the distributor all together and use a crank triggered system but this looks like a challenge for a type 3 short of having
magnets machined into the flywheel for a VR sensor pickup. Then go with a set of coil packs or something...still need to learn more on this
subject!
Any help appreciated!!!!!

T3lover-here are 2 pics of the ones I have. The one in the motor was purchased by the bloke doing my ECU-I had a mag/reluctor dissy in it which was
R/S,so he scrounged around Adelaide and found this one, which was supposedly from a Wasser Van.I managed to find the other one which also I
believe, came from a Wasser motor in a Van.The advance unit on the side shouldn't be an issue as it will always stay at 0 advance-or just remove it
and lock the shaft.I am still learning about this EFI stuff and have a long way to go recognising the different dizzys.
